What's up buttercup?

Hi pals! Here's a taste of what i've been up to in the past couple of weeks.
I've really been taking advantage of my days off at home lately. Lots of tea and record-listening, organizing and cooking. Man, I love this time of year. Stef and I had the pleasure of going to see Iron & Wine as well as Widowspeak a couple weeks back and it was one of the best nights I've had in a really long time.

Her and I have been spending a decent amount of time (and boxes of wine) in her hot-tub lately. Nothing like a little Passion Pop and girl talk to pass the time.

So 8 weeks ago I started doing something that I haven't done in like, 10 years. I started running. It was time to get my lazy butt off the couch and DO something, so I found a pretty great running app and took it to the streets! It's a 9 week running challenge to go from not running (like, ever) to being able to run a 5k! For those of you that run, it won't seem like a huge deal, but for this face, I really didn't think it was possible.  I've come a really long way in the past 8 weeks but I still have a long way to go in my running journey! I'm super excited to continue with the 5k-10k app once this one is finished.
I saw this stencil on my run in the rain the other day and it sure put a smile on my face.

It's no secret that one of my favorite things to do is thrift, and my favorite time to do so is near Halloween! It's always easy pickin' and the crazy vintage stuff comes out of hiding for costumes.
I snagged these two pieces of pyrex to add to the collection and this perfect little plant.

Fall makes me want to hide out in my kitchen and make big pots of soup and bake up a storm. I made this pumpkin bread a few weeks back and let's just say it didn't last long. Side note - my apron was thrifted and I think it's hilarious because I wear it as I bake the sweetest desserts!  I do realize that  not everyone will think it's as ironic as I do, so my apologies in advance.

Nothing like a good magazine, comfy chair and a good breakfast to start the day off right.

The other night my friends and I met at a park to eat pizza and drink wine and just plain old enjoy each others' company. This is Moe, my friend Jill's sweet little guy and he's kind of the best.

Kinda bummed to miss out on most of our Fall.

I went to Calgary, Alberta for a wedding for my husband's cousin this past weekend. I drove out on Friday morning with Derek and my in-laws and I flew home on Monday. That was trip one of three in the next couple of weeks, and my brain is already in full holiday mode!

XO, Erin

  6. Sounds like you've been fun-busy, Erin! I love your apron and believe me, I do find the irony in it (wearing while baking). Thrifting...ah, yes. One of my favorite pasttimes, too. In fact, I have a thrifting date with a blogger friend in an hour! :-)
