Stef's new years goals.

Well you guys, we are at that the time of year again when we are forced to reflect on the previous months and all that we have accomplished and all that we wish we had. I feel like 2013 was a pretty busy year and I got a lot of things crossed off my to-do list that I was wanting to, but I am really enjoying the fresh start of 2014. Here are a few things I hope to accomplish this year:

- Talk more, text less.
If at all possible I am going to try to get together with people in person to have a conversation, but if that doesn't work then a good old fashioned phone call could also do the trick.

- O is for Organization.
This is a major priority for me this year since we still haven't even finished unpacking everything from our move (oops!) Our basement is a total disaster to say the least, but this year that is gonna change. Mark my words.

- Plan a trip to a different continent.
The last big trip Emery and I took was for our honeymoon five years ago, so this year we are going to save up for a trip to either Europe or South America. Still undecided...

 - Spend as much time outdoors as possible.
...Especially when the weather is pleasant! The spring/summer season seems so short here in Winnipeg and I want to make sure I soak up every possible second!

-Be more active.
Yes, this is a one that I definitely need to work on and will be at the top of my list. (Also, I'm pretty sure that everyone has this goal but whatever, it still rings true. Ha.)

- Cook an entire cookbook.
Since I got so many interesting cookbooks for Christmas I thought it would be a fun challenge to try to cook my way through an entire book this year. This goal is possibly a tad on the unattainable side but it doesn't hurt to try, right? Plus it would also broaden my culinary horizons and force me to try things that I wouldn't normally be drawn to. So really it's a win-win

- Quality R&R time.
Last but not least, remember to stop and smell the roses! Life is too short to constantly be running around like a crazy person.

What about you guys, do you have any goals for the new year? I would love to hear 'em!
XO, Stef

  7. All excellent goals, Stef! I'm trying to work on calling more, spending more time outside, and quality R&R time as well -- plus trying to spend my downtime doing things I really enjoy (like writing) rather than spending so much time on facebook and twitter!

    Happy New Year! x

  15. Awesome goals!

I'm definitely one for talking more and texting less.. Just the other day when my friends and I went out to coffee, I noticed how EVERYONE was pretty much on their phone or talking about what was ON their phones rather than actually living in the moment. Such a bad habit that we all need to break :)
