  1. These are great! Thanks so much for posting. I'm at uni right now which means no fun reading or other activities whatsoever but once I'm out mmmboy, I'll be returning to this post.

Some books I love: Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami and The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf. Drastically different books/genres but both great reads.

  4. oh, you must read "ella minnow pea" by mark dunn. it's such a fun lovely book about the people of the fictional island of nollop (named after the man who created the pangram "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"). it'll have you reading aloud by the end!

also, do try "the night circus" by erin morgenstern. i thought this, too, was a wonderful read.

  5. So many great reads! I've got to add a couple of these to my list. And yes to Bossy Pants. I got a free download of the audio version which Tina Fey narrates herself, and it is beyond hilarious.

  11. History of Love is so good! I've never really found something that perfectly matched it. I haven't read Middlesex, but I'm reading The Marriage Plot right now by the same author and I like it a lot.

  12. I loved Middlesex! I own the Wally Lamb book, but I haven't read it yet. I have heard of most of these, but not read any of them besides the two I mentioned. I'll have to go put these on my to-read list!

  13. I remember loving 'The Flying Troutmans', and any Wally Lamb is good - especially 'She's Come Undone' (albeit, a little blue)... :)

  14. Middlesex is a brilliant book as is The Virgin Suicides by the same author. Fav reads: The Secret History by Donna Tart and pretty much anything by Margaret Atwood :)

  15. One of my favorite beach reads is "Tales from Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffett. And I love almost anything by Ernest Hemingway. I am more of a magazine person, though - love them. Probably why I like the Buffett book as it is more of compilation of short stories!

  16. Great reads!! You two should read A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff. It's a really fast read and the main character owns a vintage shop. Perfect! ;)
