The next stop in our globetrotting was Indonesia, so we packed up our shorts and swimsuits, grabbed our passports and hopped a plane from Kuala Lumpur to Bali!
We stayed at a great new hotel in Kuta, called Ozz Hotel, which was located close to the beach and to plenty of good restaurants. It was important for us that we were able to walk to as many places as possible, so this hotel was the perfect pick for us and our budget. We would definitely recommend checking it out if you are looking for a fantastic stay in a great location on a budget.
Necessities to combat the heat: paper fans and plenty of after sun lotion.
Ah yes, cocktail hour! There were so many interesting looking restaurants to check out in Kuta and we did our best to try as many different ones as possible. Here we are enjoying a couple of pre-dinner mojitos on a poolside patio.
Also check out this patio, I mean.. how incredible is that? Too gorgeous for words.
We caught a bit of a flu a few days into our stay in Bali, but we didn't let that bring us down. We spent plenty of time reading, relaxing, and drinking freshly squeezed orange juice. Basically it was a good excuse to unwind and catch up on some much needed rest and relaxation time.
Balinese offerings all over the streets. They also smell as pretty as they look!
Never a dull moment in Bali! Not quite sure what this truck is hauling...
Before we knew it it was time to head back to Bangkok to finish up our shopping. Man, even though this was our longest trip (with just the two of us) it sure flew by! It was kind of a bummer that we were sick and didn't get to enjoy Bali to the full potential, but hey what can ya do? When life gives ya lemons... ;)

As soon as we arrived, we ran up to our room, threw our bags on our beds, raced down to the pool and got our hands on an icy cold Bintang beer. Mmm... definitely our drink of choice when we're in Bali!

Our favorite time of day: watching the sunset on Kuta beach. Gah, I'm definitely missing the beach right about now. (FYI it is snowing as I am typing this.)
During the days we spent a lot of time poolside catching up on our reading and drinking watermelon shakes. Also yes, that is a mango tree that we are reading under. Not a bad view, hey?!
