Merry Christmas!
We just wanted to send warm holiday greetings from our homes to yours! We are taking the day off to spend time with our families and eat lots of delicious home-cooking! This is one of our favorite times of year so we just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy every minute of it! We hope you get a chance to do this same! There is something so serene and magical about this time of year, so be sure to slow down and take it all in!

We heart Instagram.
As you all know, we are huge fans of the iPhone app Instagram! We are totally addicted to taking little snapshots of our homes and daily lives. So when we were asked by one of the community managers over at Instagram if we would be interested in doing an interview for the Instagram blog we were beyond flattered! He was interested in hearing more about our mobile shop so we shared our story with him through some of our favorite Instagram photos! 2012 Sponsorship Information.
It's hard to believe that it was only last year at this time that we started our blog, Oh So Lovely. 2011 has been such an amazing year for us - we started our blog, we renovated our trailer, we went to our first events with Olive, we quit our day jobs to pursue our dreams, we moved into Vintage Glory to do the womenswear, and finally we opened our very own vintage boutique Rhymes With Orange! Whew! If you would have told us at the beginning of the year that all of this would happen, we would've thought you were crazy! Christmas in the Thiessen home!
Like Stef, one of my favorite parts of preparing for Christmas is setting up my aluminum tree! As you can see it's starting to look a little haggard due to my cat who loves to rip pieces off the bottom branches and it's turning into a Charlie Brown tree, but I love it nonetheless! This is in my bedroom and I love my new (to me) fireplace!
I have a total of four fireplaces in my home (excessive, I know) two of which are real but no longer work and I love decorating the mantels at this time of year!
This Christmas I plan on catching up on much needed sleep. I also can't wait to give out presents!
My amazing cousin Sara just had this little guy, baby Jack, and I'm thinking of running away with him at our gathering on Christmas Eve! He gives me big time baby fever...
I can't wait to get all dolled up for parties in my new dresses!
Both my husband and I have fairly decent sized families which means a lot of gatherings which I look forward to all year! My little sister is out from Montreal for two weeks which means my whole family is home and I can't wait to eat, drink and relax with them!

An Atomic Christmas at the Hieberts!
With Christmas just around the corner, we thought we should share a few peeks into our homes and what our life has been looking like during this holiday season! Today is a little peek into some of the festive details in my house, and tomorrow Erin will share hers!
One of my favorite parts about Christmas is getting to set up my aluminum tree! I love decorating it with my collection of vintage turquoise and peach ornaments and watching it sparkle! If I have any extra ornaments left over, I like to put them in vases or planters to use as centerpieces for my tables (beside a few ceramic deer figurines, of course!) I also have fun finding a cute retro-inspired wrapping paper to make all my presents look extra pretty under the tree!
Festive music is a must over the holiday season, and lately the new She & Him album has been on high rotation on our record player... We just can't get enough!
We have already hosted a number of Christmas parties at our place and I always have so much fun cooking new recipes, setting the table with my favorite atomic dishes and getting all dressed up in my favorite party dresses! There's always lots of delicious food, plenty of good wine, and tons of great company! My all-time favorite part about this season is getting to spend quality time with all of my family and loved ones. It just doesn't get any better than that!

Yay! Today is this very special lady's birthday! So everyone wish Erin a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Erin, I just want you to know how lucky I am to have such an amazing friend (and business partner!) like you in my life. I am always excited to come into work because we always have the greatest time together (even after weeks of working 14 hour days setting up a store we STILL aren't sick of each other! How many people can say that?!)
