The Sound of Silence.

It has been a very cloudy and rainy May long weekend in our neck of the woods, (how come that always seems to happen on long weekends?) So we figured we would embrace the weather and use it as the perfect excuse to catch up on watching some of our
favorite old flicks!

These are scenes from The Graduate (1967) starring Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft, and Katharine Ross. If you haven't already scene it, here are six reasons to check it out:

1. For starters, you get to check out a young Dustin Hoffman! What a guy.

2. As I'm sure you all have noticed by now, gorgeous retro interiors are always a huge draw for us, and this house is no exception! Check out this amazing black and white bar complete with a matching striped awning outside! Wow.

3. We love scenes full of luxurious patio furniture and cute vintage barbeques! We are always suckers for these as well! (especially on a day like today.)

4. Date night scenes. At first Dustin Hoffman's character is...well... less than impressive as a date, but he redeems himself with this date to the drive-in diner. We wish we could have been around in the era of an authentic drive-thru with carhops!

5. There is a level of comedic suspense throughout the movie because of Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft's characters having an affair, which is accompanied by an amazing Simon & Garfunkel heavy soundtrack. We even have the soundtrack on vinyl, we just can't get enough!

6. And lastly, for all of the true believers in romance, it has a happy ending (...well, sorta.)

Have a good lazy Sunday, friends!
