(interesting fact: i took this photo of this plane right before my father-in-law jumped out of it! eek! what a brave man.)
We are getting into full travel mode now! I can't believe that we leave in only two days!!! Eep! Most people that we talk to ask us if we are totally dreading the 30+ hours of travel time, but believe it or not that is actually part of the fun for us! If you haven't flown that far before it definitely seems intimidating but it can actually be surprisingly easy if you psych yourself up and mentally prepare for it. We like to load our iphones full of new music and movies that we haven't got a chance to listen to or watch yet, and pack our carry-on bags full of new books that we are dying to sink our teeth into! It is also nice to know that we get uninterrupted time to just relax. We tend to be always be in work mode and even on our days off from the shop we are usually found blogging, thrifting, and working on our computers, so it is nice to just get away from it all and take a break. So when you look at it that way, the flight can actually be more like the start of the vacation rather than something to dread!
Alright, so now that we're in the flying spirit we thought we would share some vintage flight necessities that we found on Etsy. We love how brightly colored everything is and how cute the graphics were! Why was everything so darn cute in the sixties, including the playing card cases?!

P.S. I've been listening to this song on repeat while writing this post, so I figured I would share the goodness with you! Oh Frank, you sure know how to get a gal excited to travel!
XO, Stef

give me a break, the fun part of traveling is relax, visit new places, eat great food and more.. for me flying is just exciting because you are leaving to another place XD but I don´t like much hours in a plane, the food is bad and I hate sleeping in a chair jajaja, maybe it´s me...anyway!! I wish to travel often like you girls.
ReplyDeleteI so wish that flying were still as glamorous as it used to be! I actually found a Pan Am bag just like the blue one you featured in a vintage shop, totally kicking myself for not buying it. :(
ReplyDeletei love the show pan am :) christina ricci -- yes please!

Love love love traveling! Though it can be exhausting when you're doing it for 30+ hours!
ReplyDeleteI adore all of the vintage Pan Am accessories, I am such a sucker for the gorgeous blue jet-setter symbol!
I love those vintage labels - I have a book of them , they are so evocative of different eras and the glamour of travel. Hope you have a great trip :)
ReplyDeleteReally? I love the travelling too. I love the fact that I know that I'm going somewhere fantastic, flying over thousands of miles, oceans and what not. And I love turbulence when taking off and landing. And the forced relaxation. And knowing you're going somewhere. Arrgh I miss travelling.
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome time.
XO Samantha
