Bye bye, February!

Guess what?! It's the last day of February! Yessss! We are so ready for March over here! It's about time to see this snow start melting so we can bust out our sundresses again, they are just itching to make their way out of our closets already! Let's say goodbye to February with this final dose of lovely inspiration:
How dreamy is this photo? What I wouldn't give to be sitting on a beach right now...

I could go for one of these pretty grapefruit cocktails right about now.

Must try this recipe for baked ricotta dip at my next dinner party!

Love this look, especially that amazing fur coat.

T.G.I.F. friends! XO

Run away with me.

Ok, I'm officially done with Winter. I can no longer deal with it. Do you ever just feel like packing a bag and running away? Lately that's all I've been wanting to do. Pack a backpack with a couple of swimsuits, some good books, running shoes and a journal and just book a ticket outta here. I don't even care where to. Just get me out of here. I know running away isn't going to solve any problems, but sometimes it seems like the only thing to do.

What Stef's been up to lately.

The temperatures have remained consistently cold around these parts, so I've been spending the majority of my time at home getting things done around here. This is a little peek of what my days have looked like as of late:

I finally got around to hanging my adorable cat print that Erin got for me from the shop next door to ours called Tiny Feast! Since I can't have an actual cat, at least I can hang them on my walls.

I have also been expanding my plant collection and my house is starting to look a bit like a greenhouse (not that I'm complaining!) It will have to do until summer finally gets here.

Erin and I also went to get new tattoos recently, and I couldn't be happier with how it healed! We will be sharing more on that later though...

I've started my spring cleaning a bit early this year (possibly as a result of going a little stir crazy during this long winter!) and have spent many days off finding homes for all of the little piles of random things all over my house.

I've also been daydreaming about planning our next big trip. Emery and I are hoping to travel somewhere overseas in the next year or so and are leaning towards Argentina or possibly going back to Europe. We still need to do some more research though!

Many lazy afternoons have been spent at home relaxing and listening to records in my living room. That is the one good thing about winer; there is plenty of time to catch up on much needed rest.

Next stop: Italy & Greece

The next trip that I go on, it will hopefully be to Italy and to Greece. Since I was 16 years old I have planned on going, but life got in the way and it was the trip that just wasn't meant to be. I will not rest until I go, and that is a promise I am going to keep.
I want to go to the Mykonos Island and float in the sea.

And ride a gondola through the canals of Venice.

Oh to rent a scooter and explore the winding narrow streets of Italy.

What I wouldn't give to fatten up on delicious pizza and fresh pasta, and of course all of the cheese and prosciutto!

I would love nothing more than to sit at a cafe on a cobblestone street, spending the day people watching and possibly even learning to love coffee.
(Photo from this Etsy shop is no longer available, but there are many other beautiful ones available!)

Last but definitely not least, I would love nothing more than to visit Santorini, Greece, climb the steps of the beautiful white washed buildings, and then watch the sunset over the Aegean Sea. How perfect does that sound, hey?

Friday at last.

Hooray it's the weekend! Do you guys have any exciting plans? I'm currently drinking a beer and watching the Canada/US hockey game at work which is a nice distraction from working on things that I should be doing, like our taxes. Ha. Happy Friday friends.
Loving this popsicle print!

Ringing true.

This print is pretty perfect.

Passionfruit cookies! Combining two of the best things in life.

Oh Audrey, so flawless.

Loving this series of custom made furniture by Jason Pickens.

These drop bracelets (also available in ring-form) are so simple but so perfect.

Lovely living rooms

Since we have both been spending an unnatural amount of time indoors because of this terribly cold winter, we've both got the itch to do a little interior re-decorating at our homes and have been on the hunt for inspiration. Here are a few of our favorites.
We are really loving the layout of this cozy living room, especially the unique pieces.

This is a fantastic open concept living / dining space. Also, super cute spot for log storage.

How dreamy would it be to read a book on that window seat?

Oversized cushions for casual floor seating is always a good idea in my opinion.

Whoa, this living room is absolutely stunning. I can't get over the height of those ceilings! So dreamy.

What Erin's been up to lately.

It's been a busy couple of weeks, and I spent a big chunk of them under the weather, but I feel 100% again and am getting back into the swing of things.
I bought this new recipe box by Rifle Paper Company over at our neighbours - Tiny Feast, and then on Valentine's Day, my husband bought me a stack of the recipe cards, so I spent a few hours writing out all of my favorites (there are many).

If you're going to take a bubble bath, make it count. No bath is complete without a little Frank Sinatra and a glass of wine.

Speaking of wine, I've been on a bit of a wine-colored kick lately. Is it obvious?

I've also been on a plant-buying kick. Here are two new beauties along with one of my favorite photos in which both of my grandfathers are in.

I have been quickly spending my Christmas gift certificates at our neighbouring shop - Tiny Feast. I could spend all of my money on paper goods. Oh boy.

Here are some more of the plants I recently acquired.
The other day I simply could not deal with the never-ending cold, so I bundled up and headed out to Ikea and stocked up on new plants. Here's hoping I can keep them alive longer than the last time around.

So, I may or may not have a weak spot for buying new bedding. I only have the one bed, but I probably have enough bedding for over a dozen. This new striped set from Ikea is simple, but I love it.

My uncle flew out from Whitehorse last week, so I had a big family gathering and got to spend some time with my little cousin Maiya. Such a sassy little goof.

So there you have it, a look at my last couple of weeks.

The big bang.

I have been on a mission to grow out my bangs for the past half a year or so, but every time I see dreamy photographs like this of cute girls with pretty haircuts with bangs I always get so tempted to grab a pair of scissors and cut them off again! Hmm... what's a girl to do?!
This cut is so soft and feminine.

Love this vintage inspired bob with bangs combo.

Oh, Alexa Chung. You always know what's up when it comes to haircuts.

Such a 1960's Cher inspired bang. Love this.

Last but certainly not least, the beautiful Jane Birkin and her flawless hair.

I don't know about you guys, but I am very tempted to book a hair appointment right now...

Erin's kitchen tour.

I spent the entire morning cleaning my kitchen and figured why not finally share a little peek into my home with you guys? I rent the second floor of an old home, and I spend the majority of my time in my kitchen. It's quite spacious, but there are lots of things I would change if I could. Just warning you, it is definitely my most colorful room in my home, and it's rather busy, but I love it and hope that you do too! There's a lot to look at and I have a very obvious weakness for dishes: glasses, mugs, plates, bowls, etc. You get the picture...
My busiest corner in the house!

Where all the magic happens.

I've been collecting all sorts of kitschy vintage knick knacks for as long as I can remember, but I've reached the point of slowly changing it up and parting with things.

A peek into my semi-insane-o cupboards. How many cups and mugs are too many?

So that's it folks! Have a happy holiday Monday!
