Welcome July Sponsors!

We are so excited to present our amazing sponsors for July! This is our first time stepping into the sponsorship world and we are so psyched that all of these amazing blogs/websites wanted to be apart of it with us! Please take a minute and check these talented lovelies out! We will be doing a spotlight on them later on in the month, but feel free to take a peek at them now! Thanks!

Have a great evening!

A little bit of this. A little bit of that.

Why hello friends! We thought we would take a minute and talk to you about our last couple of days, which have been a whirlwind! We told you about Monday’s festivities, but yesterday was almost as crazy! We started off the day with a thrift store tour around Southern Manitoba again. It was really nice to escape the city and spend the sunny day in the country, sifting through small town mennonite’s treasures! Stef and I both have Menno roots, but that is worthy of a whole other post! For those of who have no idea what a Mennonite is, stay tuned!  Anyway, the day started off on a high note, when, at the first store we hit up, Miss newly-quit-her-job-Stefanie stumbled upon a Cathrineholm chartreuse teapot!  We knew right then and there that it was a sign, her quitting her job for Oh So Lovely was the right decision! Cathrineholm lotus print enamelware...it’s just not something you stumble across at a thrift store very often, if ever! Cathrineholm is up there on our list of DREAM thrift items (stay tuned for an actual list in the near future.) Ok, so after that we made our way in a rectangle around the southern half of our lovely province, with a stop at a dingy restaurant in a tired old town which gave us the second wind that we needed! We zipped back home to do an interview over the phone with the Globe & Mail, which is one of two National newspapers here in Canada!

Speaking of Canada, it’s almost July 1!  Which means we will be out at the Osborne street festival , where they shut down the street for a giant red & white birthday party for our beautiful country! Stef and I have both participated in the festival for the past 3 years together at Para Mix (and 3 more for me!) and it has always been a fantastic day!

Canada Day 2010.

We’re so thrilled to be out on our own this year, spending the day with our trailer, Olive!
Make sure you come and check us out between 10am and 10:30pm if you are close by.
Also, be sure to come to Music Trader at 5:30pm to watch our friends, The Ripperz play!
After that we're going to sneak away from our trailer to watch Stef's brother Dan's band New Renaissance perform at 9:30, it's going to be the best day, we hope you can come!

Also, we were sent a link to this beautiful video featuring a wonderful little vintage shop in Tokyo, called Pass the Baton. Check it out here:

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Thank you! Thank you!

We just wanna say a big thank you to all of you lovely and supportive blog readers for the overwhelming response we got from our free sponsorship offer! Wow! We were totally blown away by the interest and enthusiasm you all showed, so we decided to sweeten the deal so we could include as many people as possible! We still stuck with our original offer and gave the first 15 people who commented a larger ad, but we also decided to give the next 15 people that commented a smaller ad too, so that we could include more people! We already sent out emails to everyone that qualifies, so if you commented, be sure to check your inbox and get back to us with your thumbnails!

We have had a very productive and amazing business day today that we will be sharing the details of very soon! Let's just say that this will be our biggest news yet!!! We are so so psyched! I also quit my day job today so that I can put 100% of my efforts toward pursuing my dream! (This is Stef, by the way!) I can't even believe I did it! I think I'm still in shock! (in the best way possible, of course!)

We also just finished up a very fun interview and photoshoot with our local newspaper, the Winnipeg Free Press! If you live around here be sure to pick up a copy of next Tuesday's paper!

Whew! What a day! Thanks again for all of your fantastic support!
You guys rock.

Stef & Erin

Why hello lovely readers!

Our blog has been growing fairly rapidly in the past few months, and we have decided to dip our toes into the sea that is sponsorship! However, we are still building a following and wouldn't feel right charging a fee quite yet. So, we have decided to offer FREE sponsorship to the first TEN commenters to this post!
Note: The spots filled up so quickly, we decided to add 5 more!

Here is the low down:
-It's first come, first served!
-Your ad will appear on the right hand side of our blog for the entire month of July.
-The ads will be free until July 31 at which time we will decide if we will begin asking for payment starting in August. If we do begin to charge for sponsorship, the prices will be very minimal.
-Near the end of July, we will put out another call. If it is free once again, then those who participated in July will not be eligible. If we do start charging for ad space, then anyone and everyone is welcome, even if you participated already. Make sense?
-We will contact the first ten lovelies with more information as soon as we get 10 responses!
-Make sure you leave your email address in your comment.

All that we ask for in return is for you to spread the love! It's as easy as that!
We would love for you to mention Oh So Lovely on your blog, or if you have twitter, a tweet or two would do just fine!

We are so excited to be growing, and are thrilled to see what the future in blog-land holds for us!
We do have some really amazing news to share with you in the next month too, and expect our following to continue to grow!

Ok, GO!

Poolside beauties.

Two ladies by the Canellopoulos penthouse pool, Athens, July 1961.

When we wanted to find pictures of 50's & 60's beauties sitting by the pool, we knew to look no further than Slim Aarons, because nobody did poolside photography like him.

Babe Paley in 1959 at her cottage in Jamaica.

Chatting poolside.

"Photographing attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places"
This was Slim Aarons' motto for life, and did he ever!

Amazing cat-shaped pool at the Fontainebleau Hotel, Miami, circa 1955.

Nothing better than a coconut on a hot day!

Dolores Del Rio floating in a swimming pool in Acapulco, 1952.

 Everything about this is perfection.

Oh how we wish we could sit poolside with Slim Aarons.

 Striped beauty.

We want to know these girls!

"Two bikini-clad holidaymakers enjoy a glass of wine outside the Carlton Hotel, Cannes."
...We want to be "holidaymakers"!

Happy Sunday lovelies!
We hope you liked our poolside inspiration!

Summer in this city.

This weekend we packed up Olive for the second time (we're getting much faster!) and headed out to Steinbach, MB for their annual festival, "Summer in the City". Originally the forecast called for thunderstorms all weekend, but to our surprise we had the most perfect weather again!

We quickly set up shop on Friday.
Here are a couple of our favorite necklaces for sale, and one of our trays of earrings.
We put the finishing touches inside the trailer and then headed out into the sun!

We made ourselves right at home with a bowl of spitz.

They had one of the cutest ferris wheels we've seen in quite some time.

There were lots of cute rides and games for the kids.

Of course there was cotton candy galore, not to mention six mini doughnut booths!

After the first day of 13 hours in heels and heat, we decided to bring our favorite vintage lawn chairs!

We really had such a fun weekend; we sold lots of cute gems and met some really amazing people!
Make sure you check back on Wednesday to see what we wore to the fair!
